Master Boot Maker
Jose De La Luz Ramirez is the last living apprentice of the renowned Mexican Boot Maker, Mr. Adres Arteaga. He is from the renowned leather worker city of Leon Guanajunto Mexico. Jose has over 50 years experience handcrafting leather goods. He has been married to Beatriz Tasso Orozco Ramirez for 42 years. They have 3 boys and 2 daughters. In his spare time, Jose likes to find the best deal at resale shops and flea markets.
Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is built into every piece we make; one should never have to sacrifice beauty for comfort or durability. In addition, Underwood Boot Company provides repair services for those treasured items and finds no better joy than to rebuild family history, lost treasures, and specialty crafted pieces of designers who no longer pursue their craft. Our Story
Underwood Boot Company was launched out of necessity - the necessity for handmade custom boots to be both affordable and made on-site within a reasonable time-frame. We're native Texans here, and, well, Texas is like a whole other country. Tourists as well as natives know that a good pair of boots is a mandatory item in your wardrobe. We want to be the pair you buy and wear for a lifetime. Underwood Boot Company uses techniques and patterns passed down from generations of boot makers to ensure your pair will last a lifetime.
